ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT PROFILE:
Administration department consist of Office of the Town Clerk and subsectors of; Human resource, procurement, Records, Law enforcement, Information Technology (IT) and Stores. These sub sectors work together to support the work under administration department.
Administratively the Town Clerk is assisted by the deputy Town Clerk who supervises the rest of other sub sectors and also supports the division senior assistant town clerks.
Currently according to the approved staff establishment, 25 positions of 37 has been filled representing 67.6% while the division has 47.5% filled positions out of 80 approved positions.
The recruited staffs under administration are very motivated and dedicated to the provision of service delivery to the community and as such, their efforts has been rewarded by successively taking the fifth and sixth position in the overall national performance ranking from 2017/18 and 2018/19.
Administration department has taken the initiatives to start the construction of a magnificent administration block that should be able to house all the offices and hall for council meeting and the work will proceed this financial year 2020/21. The department has put in place first class internet and intercom to aid communication both within and without the municipality. This in effect has created a good work environment for all the staffs.
The department plan to ensure that the administration block for all the divisions are constructed in the next five years and staffing levels are filled to nearly 100% to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery for a better municipality.
Size of civil service.
The size of civil service of the council is determined by the number of staff in the departments and sectors/units in the department. In general, Apac Municipal Council has a total of 404 staff
