The Senior Inspector of Schools Akello Molly Grace  presenting the analysis of PLE,UCE & UBTEB results for  2025 at Apac Scouts hall Apac Municipal Council

The Senior inspector of schools  Akello Molly Grace stated that UNEB Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results for Apac   Municipality for the year 2025, is compared with performance in 2024. The analysis is based on school-level and gender-

dis-aggregation, data are officially obtained from the Municipality Education dashboard. She said the overall performance in 2025 declined slightly compared to 2024, with a reduction in Division 1 and Division 2 passes and a notable increase in failures (Ungraded). While some schools demonstrated strong and consistent performance—particularly Apac  Model PS, Arocha PS, and Lady Edina PS—perhaps others experienced increased failure rates.

The gender analysis shows that, male candidates slightly outperformed females in top divisions, while female candidates were more represented in lower divisions and ungraded categories, indicating possible disparities in learning support, attendance, and socio-cultural factors.

Private schools generally performed better than Government counterparts, highlighting resource-based inequalities. Key challenges identified include absenteeism, learner preparedness, teacher deployment gaps, and limited instructional resources and teachers strike  actions which took place in third term also  affected learners.

She recommended that, the school-based support supervision should be strengthen, targeted remediation for low-performing schools, enhanced teacher professional development, community engagement to reduce absenteeism, and focused gender-responsive interventions to be implemented.
